NEATH PORT TALBOT LOCAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

CALL FOR CANDIDATE SITES

Do you want a say in the future of your Community?

Where should new development be located?

As part of the new Local Development Plan, an important plan that will shape the future of your community for the next 15 years, Neath Port Talbot Council is inviting all landowners, developers, agents and members of the public to suggest suitable sites for potential future development, (“Candidate Sites”). 

Sites may be suggested for any use, or a combination of uses, for example:

 

Housing                      Community uses               Waste development

Employment(Commercial/Industrial)                Minerals development

Retail 

 

Last year 424 sites were submitted for consideration as potential development sites in the LDP. There is no need to comment again on these sites.  Another opportunity to submit additional sites will start on 15th June and end at midnight on 27th July 2010.

The Council will also submit sites that it thinks should be considered.

The submission of sites is only part of the information gathering exercise and does not mean that the sites will be taken forward to the LDP.

Site Notices identifying any new sites submitted will be posted near the sites. Information will also be placed on the LDP pages of the Council’s website. Comments on the sites can be made until midnight on 30th September 2010.

CONFIDENTIALITY

You should also be aware that legislation requires that any letter or response you send us has to be available for inspection by anyone interested. Because of this we cannot take into account comments that are marked ‘confidential’.

Note:  Although this website is not yet bilingual, correspondence in Welsh would be welcomed.
