LDPNEATH PORT TALBOT LOCAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

CALL FOR CANDIDATE SITES

Do you want a say in the future of your Community?

Where should new development be located?

As part of the new Local Development Plan, an important plan that will shape the future of your community for the next 15 years, Neath Port Talbot Council is inviting all landowners, developers, agents and members of the public to suggest suitable sites for future development, (“Candidate Sites”).

Sites may be suggested for any use, or a combination of uses, for example:

Housing                                                           Community uses               Waste development

Employment (Commercial/Industrial)                Retail                           Minerals development

The acceptance of suggested candidate sites for consideration should not be interpreted as a commitment from the Council that such sites will be included within pre-deposit proposals/ or the Deposit LDP.

The period for submission of candidate sites will close on 31st July 2009  [Although earlier submissions would be appreciated].

Submission forms for download can be found  at www.npt.gov.uk/LDP , together with the accompanying Guidance Notes.

Comments on the suitability of the sites will be invited and will be made public.  Site notices will be displayed at the site’s location to raise awareness within the community that the site has been suggested, and each site will be published on this website.    

The period to make comments on Candidate Sites has been extended to 31st October 2009 due to the level of interest shown by residents.  The Authority welcomes comments and would urge all persons who have an interest to post their viewpoints as soon as possible.  These comments will also be published on this website.

Note:  Although this website is not yet bilingual, correspondence in Welsh would be welcomed.
